UAE Team Emirates finished the season ranked as the number-one team in the world. Tadej Pogacar finished the season as the number-one rider in the world. Achieving just one of those stats is incredible, achieving both is an overwhelming success. The 57 victories by 17 different riders propelled UAE Team Emirates to the winningest year in their history.
For us at ENVE, it was a dream season having our wheels and handlebars ridden to victory at one-day classics and stage races alike. It was only 12 months ago when ENVE partnered with UAE Team Emirates as the official wheel sponsor after the team did extensive testing with the leading brands on the market and chose ENVE as a key performance partner.
“At UAE Team Emirates we have some of the best athletes in the world who demand the best materials; so when we collaborate with a brand like ENVE who understand this and meet us with that same passion and expertise, then the results speak for themselves.”Mauro Gianetti, Team Principal and CEO
“As a team we pride ourselves on innovation and we appreciate the importance of working closely with our sponsors and suppliers to be at the forefront of world cycling. Our relationship with ENVE began this year and together we have made strides in improving many aspects of our technical material”, said Mauro Gianetti, Team Principal and CEO.
He continued, “A lot of resources have gone into the process through R&D and many hours of testing in the wind tunnel. At UAE Team Emirates we have some of the best athletes in the world who demand the best materials; so when we collaborate with a brand like ENVE who understand this and meet us with that same passion and expertise, then the results speak for themselves. We hope to continue making strides together with ENVE for many years to come.”
The SES line of road wheels, and specifically the SES 4.5 wheelset, became the team’s go-to thanks to the performance advantages that come with the aero-optimized rims uniquely designed around high-volume, tubeless technology. This is the same technology that we’ve been offering to our customers for years and is now helping lead the way in World Tour racing.
What started as a wheel-only partnership, grew into a handlebar R&D project with Tadej Pogacar and the team requesting a one-piece version of ENVE’s SES Aero Handlebar. In just five months’ time, the first versions of the U.S.-made SES Aero One-Piece Handlebars were being fitted to the team bikes and ridden at the Tour de France, providing the stiffness, aero performance, and geometry required for a run at the Yellow Jersey. While the UAE Team Emirates were the only ones able to receive the SES Aero Handlebar in 2023, it will be commercially available in early 2024.
