The annual Eurobike show is a big deal, this year welcoming over 42k industry visitors, 22k public and precisely 1,654 press, all from a total of 101 countries. The exhibition area is vast and includes cycling in all its forms, with lots of wacky stuff alongside the latest road, mountain and e-bikes which dominate.
ENVE had a significant presence, led by the brand new, game changing M Series line which had been launched in the UK the previous week and makes this an especially important year for us…and for everyone who hates pinch flats.

The ENVE stand at Eurobike, featuring awesome bikes from some of our favorite brands and a display of the complete product line.
The upper mezzanine included an area for meetings and delicious Right Side Coffee from Barcelona served by our buddy Florian – both the meeting area and coffee cart were kept busy all week.
The full component range was on display and everything could be picked up and handled rather than locked down. We wanted visitors to feel the lightness and the quality.
To demonstrate the pinch flat resistance of our new Protective Rim Strip, we took along a Drop Test rig similar to the one in our Test Lab at home in Utah. A weighted steel mandrel, shaped to replicate the sort of obstacle that can cause a pinch flat, is dropped onto the wheel and inflated tire.
The drop height increases by one-inch increments until either a pinch flat or rim failure occurs. The new M7 and M9 simply never pinch flat, thanks to the Protective Rim Strip which maintains the seal with the tire even after the rim is damaged. Over the course of the show, one M7 rim took around 200 hits from a height that would have reduced most rival wheels to dust. And it never flatted.
Alchemy Arktos Custom
Alchemy’s carbon fiber frames are handmade in the US, just like ENVE wheels, and that’s just the start of why we have an affinity with this brand from the other side of the Rockies, in Denver. The Arktos is a 150mm travel trail bike with a unique shock linkage that allows it to float over the small stuff, pedal efficiently mid-stroke, and remain plush to the end of its travel for the big hits. In short, it’s hugely versatile and born of the same thinking as the new ENVE M630s it wears here. Now lighter, stronger, more flat resistant, and in a choice of three widths, this is a trail wheel without limitations. The wheels and frame have custom gold graphics to compliment the SRAM XX1 Eagle groupset and the result is stunning.
Speedvagen Rugged Road
The latest steel frame from our good friends in Portland, Oregon, shares so much DNA with our SES 4.5 AR wheels it’s uncanny. Both are handmade in the US and have grown from performance-focused product lines but take a different path, any path, in fact. Dirt roads, gravel, and broken tarmac are the natural terrain of this pairing, yet they roll fast on smooth roads, too. The Rugged Road combines lovely detailing with loads of clearance for the 30mm-wide 4.5 AR with a matched tire, so you get the comfort and low rolling resistance of a big tire without sacrificing aerodynamics. Custom rim graphics match the fantastic Speedvagen paint scheme. This bike is built with our handlebar and stem, and we also make the carbon fiber seatmast cap for Speedvagen. Mondraker e-Crusher Carbon RR+
Short of an uplift service, nothing lets you pack more aggressive runs into a day than an all-mountain e-bike such as this very neatly packaged offering from Mondraker with 160/150mm travel front and rear, attacking geometry and huge DH-spec 203mm Shimano Saint brakes. The extra-wide M640 wheelset is well suited here, allowing tire sizes up to 2.4”. For even greater toughness and total pinch-flat protection, the imminent M735E wheelset features our new Protective Rim Strip and an e-bike specific construction.
Intense Carbine Factory
The all-new 2018 Carbine caused major excitement when it broke out earlier this year. Featuring revised geometry for the carbon fiber frame, a new leverage curve from the JS Trail dual-link rear end, and a Rock Shox double-act of Lyrik RCT3 fork and Super Deluxe RC3 shock for 160/155mm travel respectively, this is an all-mountain weapon. This Cervélo S5 is the spare race bike of Daniel Teklehaimanot, pro rider at Team Dimension Data For Qhubeka. The super-fast aero-road frame rolls on equally rapid SES 7.8 tubular wheels, the perfect set-up for flat and rolling stages when aero is everything. Daniel’s bike also features our Aero Road Handlebar and Road Stem, and wears the colors of the Eritrean flag to reflect his status as reigning national champion.
Peaty’s ‘Last Orders’ Santa Cruz V10
When Steve Peat retired from downhill racing at the end of last season, he rode this bike especially painted by Fat Creations in the UK to mark the occasion. Inspired by a World War II Spitfire fighter plane, it calls closing time on one of the greatest careers the sport has seen. ENVE and Peaty’s Syndicate team go way back and they were instrumental in the development of our latest M930 DH wheels, just as they were in the previous generations.
A fully focused XC racer, the speedy Cannondale F-SI has always been a perfect match to the lightweight M50 wheelset. The new M525 will take elevate your XC racer’s performance even further, with a sub-1350g weight, 50% greater pinch flat resistance and a 40% increase in impact toughness, all while maintaining a smooth feel.
Our friends at FiftyOne in Dublin, Ireland, are helping us celebrate our 10th anniversary with this limited edition race bike which made its debut at Eurobike. Only 10 will be made, naturally, and each one will come with a high-gloss photobook documenting its build from start to finish. It’s the first FiftyOne with disc brakes and each bike will be built with the customer’s choice of ENVE disc wheels and handlebar, plus our stem and seatpost, all with paint and graphics to match the frame. What’s more, because FiftyOne is all about bespoke service and the perfect fit, the geometry and characteristics of the frame itself are entirely down to the customer. The ENVE10 can be a head-banging race bike or a relaxed mile-muncher.
FiftyOne began life in 2015 using machinery rescued from Germany where a revered Italian builder, Mauro Sannino, had retired. And the name? 51 is the most winning race number at the Tour de France.
Speed is only half the story with the P5x, even though it has a lot of the stuff. This bike is entirely focused on long-distance triathlon and boasts two storage compartments in the frame, plus another mounted on the toptube and integrated with the cockpit so you can carry all the nutrition and tools you need without disrupting the bike’s exceptional aerodynamics by taping gels all over the place. Ease of travel is also key in tri, and the P5x features a two-piece handlebar, designed by ENVE along with the fork, that allows the bike to be packed down in under 10 minutes and rebuilt just as quick. The P5x was also one of the first bikes to adopt disc brakes for tri; the SES 7.8 Disc wheelset means it could do so with class-leading aerodynamics and stability.
